MATANGI ISLAND RESORT
This unique horseshoe-shaped island paradise boasts virgin tropical rainforest, and white sand beaches. It is no surprise that Matangi Island was voted in ISLANDS Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Private Islands in the World” and also featured in “1,000 Places to See Before You Die”, by Patricia Schultz.
The Island resort caters to adults only (16 years and older), with 10 luxurious bures and 3 unique treehouses. Rates include all meals, daily maid service, evening turn down, complimentary laundry service and non-motorized activities.
Oceanview Bure x 4 – situated on the southwestern side of the Resort with ocean views.
Bedding consists of 1 King bed and additional single bed can be added.
Beachfront Bure x 5 – situated on the western side of the Resort, all newly renovated

Treehouse x 3 – situated on the western side of the Resort, with open air spa baths on a
large private deck, featuring a day bed.
All Bures feature air-conditioning and ceiling fans, 4-poster Sealy king-size beds, private facilities, outdoor lava-rock showers, Pure Fiji bath amenities, bathrobe and slippers, hair dryer, in room electronic safe, I-pod docking station, fully stocked mini bar (additional cost based on usage), fresh baked cookies, French press coffee/tea making facilities, large sitting area, private veranda, beach towels and beach hammock.
The Resort is accessible via Taveuni Island Matei Airport, 8 miles West of Matangi Island. All guests are met on arrival by the Resort?s mini van driver for their car transfer to the Navakacoa boat-landing for their boat transfer across to Matangi Island. Car & boat transfers take approximately 45-minutes.
Matangi Private Island Resort is proud to be a member of the PADI International Resort Retailers Association. Divers are required to produce a dive certification card & sign a waiver prior to diving with the Resort.

3 days – 6 tank dives $375 + taxes per person
5 days – 10 tank dives $615 + taxes per person
Dive rates exclude gear hire, night diving & Somo Somo Strait diving.
Both hand-line fishing and light tackle sport fishing are available at Matangi Island. Year round we catch a variety of fish including Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Walu, Barracuda, Giant Trevally, Tuna and Scad Mackerel. Deep-sea game fishing is not available at Matangi Private Island Resort. Saltwater fly-fishing from our beach-frontage is possible, however you must supply your own gear.
The island’s coastal and ridge-top hiking trails provide some of the finest scenery in the surrounds of the lush tropical rainforest. The trails are all natural, so please take care on the narrow parts of the island's ridge-top. There are no harmful bugs or spiders but there are hornets, wasps, bees and bully ants that can be easily avoid by not disturbing their nests. Matangi Island is also home to some cows, bulls, horses and pigs, which you may see during your hike.
The air conditioned multimedia entertainment room at The Deck offers a 48 inch LCD screen with DVD (PAL) and surround sound.
